Sloppy screen and dialog box layout does not instill confidence in the user.

Lack of attention to details starts the user questioning whether any more attention was paid to the code itself. Typical areas of concern are control alignment, spacing of screen elements, assignment of access keys, font consistency.

Remember: First, an original, untouched screenshot will be shown. Take a look at the screenshot and try to identify what you would change, how, and why. When you are finished with your observations click the graphic. With each click, one more set of errors will be revealed. Then, they will all be shown together (a reprise). The next click will show the makeover. (Since the makeover was done in a bitmap editor, it's a bit blurry.)
